Brand Redesign for Kairos

Project Overview: I worked on this project with a fellow designer and friend, Adam. Our client, Kairos, has a water leak detection system, and came to us to help them redesign their brand identity to be more approachable, modern, and tell more of a story through their logo. They were a very small company still in the early stages before launching to the public, and they only had very basic branding so far.

Discovery & Strategy Phase: For the overall logo, we had these key ideas for direction:

  • incorporate water elements, a water droplet, waves, possibly a trident for Poseidon

  • blues or reds

  • incomplete or missing part of the mark indicating the openness of the moment for changing the outcome

  • delta symbol representing change or a clock for critical moments in time Describe your research process. How did you analyze their target audience, competitive landscape, and market positioning? What key insights emerged from stakeholder interviews or brand workshops?

Creative Direction: We had multiple in-person meetings with the 2 co-founders to determine the brand personality, visual themes, and symbolic meanings to guide our design decisions.

Design Execution: We were asked to provide logo variations, color palette, determine a typeface, as well as guidance for a website design and pitch deck.
